haversDer drogenabhängige Rick Siebert wird in der Wohnung seiner Freundin Stacey erschossen. Da Stacey die Stieftochter des bekannten und angesehenen Stadtrats Neil Hayes-Fitzgerald ist, zieht der Fall einen großen Medienwirbel nach sich und wird darum dem Major Case Squad übertragen. Zuerst gehen Goren und Eames davon aus, dass Rick, der nicht nur Drogen konsumierte, sondern auch mit ihnen handelte, in einen Streit mit einem konkurrierenden Dealer geraten ist. Die weiteren Ermittlungen führen jedoch zu einem anderen Verdacht: Rick war offenbar an brisantes Material gekommen, das Stadtrat Hayes-Fitzgerald schwer belastet. Goren und Eames finden heraus, dass der Dealer sich in Hayes-Fitzgeralds Computer gehackt und dessen private E-Mails heruntergeladen hatte. Aus diesen geht eindeutig hervor, dass sich der Stadtrat von einem Bauunternehmer bestechen ließ. Haben der Bauunternehmer oder gar der Stadtrat selbst Rick Siebert auf dem Gewissen? Goren und Eames fällt es schwer, die Antwort auf diese Frage zu finden, da sie in der Familie Hayes-Fitzgerald auf eine Mauer des Schweigens stoßen. Schließlich gelingt es Goren aber, das Vertrauen von Stacey zu gewinnen. Was sie Goren erzählt, gibt dem Fall nochmals eine brisante Wendung ...

The empire strikes back

In recent weeks, we've taken huge steps towards blocking spam accounts on LiveJournal. In fact, we've suspended as many as 30,000 accounts in a single day! We've implemented several pre-emptive measures to prevent the creation of spam accounts, and we've honed our detection of suspicious content. Spam bots are a crafty lot, so we'll continue to refine our tactics and keep up the good fight to keep you safe from spam attacks on LiveJournal.

RSS feeds again

If you're addicted to xkcd_rss, icanhaschzbrgr, or other syndicated feeds, we're pleased to report that we've resolved the update error that was mucking up your RSS feeds. While content was being pulled correctly, it wasn't being posted to the feeds themselves. Late last week, we finally nailed down what we hope was the root problem, so content should post properly. We thank you for your patience.

I find the word 'KIDS' an insult.
Kids are a baby goat and I did not give birth to a baby goat
My boys are always refered to as 'our children' or 'the boys'
(mine you the way they act now maybe 'goat' is not a bad description!!)

I also  find some swearwords offensive (well most really)
but the word c--t when said sounds very violent. does that make sense?
Anyway people what words do you find hard to deal with?

haversDer egozentrische deutsche Fotograf Gerhardt Heltman ist ermordet aufgefunden worden. Goren und Eames ermitteln und durchforsten zunächst die Bewerbungen zahlreicher Studenten, die Heltman Projekte angeboten hatten. Ihr besonderes Augenmerk fällt dabei auf einen gewissen Spencer, der an den Wochenenden als Straßenkünstler junge Frauen portraitiert. Weitere Recherchen ergeben, dass vier der Frauen, die Spencer portraitiert hatte, spurlos verschwunden sind.

Verschiedene Hinweise führen Goren und Eames wenig später zu einem Archiv, in dem Heltman unter falschem Namen Negative eingelagert hatte. Auf diesen Bildern sieht man dieselben vier Frauen, die Spencer portraitiert hatte. Bei genauerem Hinsehen entdeckt man Ungeheuerliches: Die Frauen waren zum Zeitpunkt der Aufnahme schon tot.

Als man auch noch herausfindet, dass Spencer als Kind von seiner Mutter und seinen Schwestern misshandelt worden war, drängt sich ein Verdacht auf: Spencer hat die Frauen getötet, weil sie Ähnlichkeit mit seinen Peinigerinnen hatten. Anschließend hatte er sie von Heltman fotografieren lassen, um sich für die erlittene Erniedrigung zu rächen. Musste Heltman sterben, weil er aussteigen wollte?

ladyjudithanneHi. everyone.x I think I need help!  Why you ask?  Well, this morning while it was'nt raining I went out to pay my paper bill and a few other errands (I normally pay my paper bill on sunday's but the rain was awful yesterday so stayed in) So off I go to do said errand, the roads are still very wet and puddles everywhere.As I was walking along there's a bit of a dip in the road and it was full of water,no problem I thought as I walked round it on the inside of the footpath when out of nowhere a car came and right through it it went.God knows how high this water went BUT I know where it landed!! All over me!!
I don't know what came over me but I suddenly shouted out "YOU BASTARD"   I DO NOT DO that sort of thing and most certainly not in the street! People turned round to look as I made my outburst, I felt so embarrassed I nearly turned tail and ran home. I was drenched, anyway I did my errands, got home and changed my clothes.
What sort of person am I turning into if I'm now swearing in the street?!!!  Or would you have done the same? Answers on a postcard to 'Mad Woman' Lancashire, England.x
